Ningxia: You Won’t Get It Until You Try It

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know about my deep love for Ningxia. It’s the red drink I rave about in my stories. The one I tell you to take before your morning coffee. The one I use during my two-week resets to boost mood, reduce inflammation, and get my body back on track.

And let’s clear this up real quick:

It does NOT taste like tomato juice.

It does tastes like tart pomegranate juice.

Your kids will probably love it (Hawthorne CERTAINLY does).

Your body will absolutely thank you.

But I wasn’t always a believer…

How It Started

You know my Young Living story. I came for the essential oils—nothing else. I was waist-deep in a spiritual awakening and only interested in plants that could help me connect with God, get quiet within myself, and tone down the sadness and nervousness that were ruling my days.

Supplements? No thanks. Toxin-free living? Meh, not yet.

And Ningxia? Everyone was talking about it like it was liquid gold. But I didn’t care. I wanted oils, people! PLANTS in bottles. Not some red juice.

The First Taste (During Pregnancy)

Someone told me it was amazing for supporting the placenta and helping with energy levels during pregnancy. So I tried a bottle.

The taste? It was fine—I was just crawling out of the food aversion phase, so nothing wowed me. I didn’t feel anything miraculous, so I moved on.

Back to buying patchouli and black spruce.

Then Came the Year’s Supply…

Fast forward to when I started playing with the business side of Young Living, I earned a YEAR'S SUPPLY of Ningxia. Cool. Great. Seemed like an amazing gift.

So I figured, why not give it another try?

I started adding it into my nighttime routine—mixing it with Magnesi-Om, a splash of Citrus Fresh, and some seltzer. Cute little mocktail. Tasty. And, hey, it made me feel like I was doing something good for my body.

And then... it became a daily thing.

Mocktails at parties. Double servings when I was sick. Sipping it in the bath. A whole vibe.

What Happened When I Ran Out

I didn’t really notice the impact until I ran out.

Suddenly, I was:

  • More tired

  • Getting sick more often

  • Sleeping lighter

  • Feeling blah and burnt out

And I realized—I had fallen in love. UGH.

So, yep. We made room for it in our budget. Because the benefits? Worth it.

Enter: The NingXia Reset

When Young Living launched the Ningxia Reset, I was in. It’s not a cleanse or a detox—it’s a two-week practice of flooding your body with good stuff (macrodosing Ningxia, water, whole foods, and movement).

No restriction. No guilt. Just support and nourishment.

And within DAYS?

  • I woke up an hour before my husband’s 6:20am alarm—bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

  • I had all-day energy and was still productive at 9pm (when I’d normally be snoring).

  • The brain fog? Gone. Creativity? Flowing.

  • And for the first time since college, I felt like stress wasn’t owning me.

So naturally, I did a little digging…

What Even Is Ningxia?

Ningxia Red is a nutrient-dense, antioxidant drink made from:

  • Superfruits

  • Essential oils

  • Trace minerals

  • And the ✨star of the show✨: the wolfberry (aka goji berry. Tbt to the Acai Bowl craze of 2014)

These berries are grown in the Ningxia region of China—a place known for long-living, vibrant people. (Hello, unofficial Blue Zone.)

Why It Works (When Other Stuff Doesn’t)

Even if you’re eating clean, buying organic, and shopping at the farmers market—your body might still be missing key nutrients.

Why?

Because our U.S. soil is depleted.

Modern farming has stripped essential minerals from the soil, so even your “healthy” food might be lacking. Ningxia’s wolfberries? They’re grown near the Yellow River, one of the most mineral-rich regions on the planet.

So when you drink Ningxia, you’re getting a bioavailable multivitamin straight from the earth—not a lab.
